The National ID card for persons with disabilities is a public document that enables the holder to access granted privileges in the field of mobility.

A person who is granted at least one privilege is designated as the Holder of the public document - National ID card for persons with disabilities.

On the document itself, the right that the person is entitled to will be indicated by a checkmark (X).

Right to privileges in railway transport

The right to a privilege in railway passenger transport includes a 75% discount on the regular fare for four journeys per year, as well as free travel for a companion when a person with disabilities is using this privilege.

The right to a highway toll discount or exemption

Exemption from paying tolls for the use of highways and toll facilities (such as bridges, tunnels, viaducts, etc.) for a personal vehicle transporting persons with disabilities, according to the criteria specified in the Law on Traffic Privileges, for personal needs.

The right to privileges in maritime passenger transport

Four annual journeys with a 75% discount on the regular transportation fare for a person with disabilities who meets the criteria under the law on all maritime transport routes, along with free travel for a companion when the person with disabilities is using this privilege. Alternatively, free transportation on all ferry routes with a public service obligation for a person with disabilities and a child with developmental difficulties who meet the criteria under the Law on Transport in Regular and Occasional Coastal Maritime Transport (Official Gazette No. 19/22), free transportation for a companion when a person with disabilities and a child with developmental difficulties use this privilege, and free transportation for the personal vehicle used by the person with disabilities and the child with developmental difficulties.

The right to privileges in using public roads

Exemption from paying the annual fee for the use of public roads, which is paid during the registration of motor and trailer vehicles or when renewing the validity of a driver's license, for a person with disabilities who meets the criteria specified in the law. This exemption applies to one personal vehicle owned by the person with disabilities or used under a leasing agreement.
If the person with disabilities is a minor or legally incapacitated and does not own a personal vehicle, they have the right to the privilege for one personal vehicle owned by their parents or legal guardians, or that they use under a leasing agreement.
